'A history of ideas - An idea of history' ist eine essayistische Installation über die Stadt Białystok, eine Reflexion über den Umgang mit Geschichte und Erinnerung an einem ehemals pluralistischen und revolutionären Ort. Die Arbeit reflektiert Geschichte und Erinnerung und verknüpft sie mit aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen in Bialystok. In der Arbeit werden jungen Menschen aus Bialystok (Polen) folgende Fragen gestellt: Ist Geschichte wichtig? Müssen Sie die Welt kritischer betrachten? Was bedeutet Widerstand? Die Interviewpartner beziehen sich auf die Interpretation von Geschichte, Kritik und ob es Formen von Widerstand gibt. 'A history of ideas - An idea of history' wird so zu einer Reflexion über das Lesen historischer Ereignisse in der kollektiven Geschichtsschreibung und der Erinnerungskultur und verweist indirekt auf die aktuellen politischen Ereignisse in Polen und Europa. Ein Voice-Over reflektiert über Geschichte und Gedächtnis sowie Formen der Repräsentation dieser und stellt die Frage, wie Geschichte und Gedächtnis miteinander in Einklang gebracht werden können.

The 3 Channel installation 'A history of ideas - an idea of history' is a reflection on how to deal with history and memory in the formerly pluralistic and revolutionary polish city Bialystok. The work refects on history and memory and links it with current social developments in Bialystok. In the work young people from Bialystok are asked the following questions: Is history important? Do you have to look more critically at the world? What does resistance mean? The interview partners refer to the interpretation of history, criticism and whether there are forms of resistance. Thus, 'A history of ideas - an idea of history' becomes a reminisce on the reading of historical events within collective historiography and the culture of commemoration and indirectly refer to the current political events in Poland and Europe. A voice over reflects on history and memory and their forms of represenation and askes: how to reconcile memory and history.
